Annual General Meeting: Session held after two years
AGM recommended affiliation and playing rights for four districts — Lasbela, Khuzdar, Jaffarabad and Jamshoro.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Annual General Meeting (AGM) was finally held after a gap of two years due to litigations between former chairman Zaka Ashraf and the government.
Having met the stringent PCB criteria, in accordance with the constitution’s Article 20, the AGM recommended affiliation and playing rights for four districts — Lasbela, Khuzdar, Jaffarabad and Jamshoro.
Chairman Shaharyar Khan briefed the general body members on the board vigorously pursuing the revival of international cricket in Pakistan, which has resulted in Afghanistan and Kenya already having visited the country, with an ICC full-member nation, Zimbabwe, all set to come over in the middle of May 2015 for a number of limited-overs games. Shamsa Hashmi, the newly-appointed general manager of the women’s wing, briefed the house on the rapid progress made by Pakistan in the last few years and the future domestic and international plans.
