NA-246 by-polls: Poll body allows security cameras

ISLAMABAD:
The ECP announced on Monday that it would allow surveillance cameras to be installed inside and outside polling stations in NA-246 ahead of the April 23 by-poll. However, it cautioned against compromising secrecy of voters through these devices. The ECP has also barred voters from carrying mobile phones inside polling stations. Moreover, it instructed K-Electric to avoid load-shedding on the polling day, especially at the time of counting of ballots. Presiding officers have been asked to reach their polling stations one day before the polling, while the district administration has been asked to provide logistic support to the polling staff.
