A petition was filed by Syed Zeeshan Rizvi, a resident of a flat complex on Sharae Faisal, who maintained that a wine shop was opened in the complex, adjacent to a mosque. No public notice was given for seeking objection by the authorities and a private person is operating it, the petitioner’s lawyer Waqar Shah submitted. It became a continuous source of nuisance and the SHO should be directed to check the illegal activities there, he stated. The bench, comprising Chief Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmany and Justice Salman Hamid, stated that a licence was given to the owners. It then ordered pre-admission notices to the respondents for Dec 21.
