Cantonment polls: Candidates pledge to follow rules

Candidates give an undertaking to abide by the polling-day restrictions

LAHORE:

Any candidate involved in firing in the air before or after the cantonment board polling, scheduled for April 25, will be arrested, Operations DIG Dr Haider Ashraf said on Sunday.

Ashraf said this while talking to candidates participating in the cantonment elections at his office. “Anyone found involved in firing on the day of elections will be arrested immediately and a case will also be registered against him,” he said. At the end of the meeting, the candidates gave an undertaking each that they would strictly abide by polling-day restrictions imposed under Section 144.
