Transition: APNS expresses grief over demise of Masood Hamid

All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) president Hameed Haroon and secretary general Sarmad Ali have expressed their profound grief on behalf of the office bearers and executive committee of the society over the sad and untimely death of Masood Hamid, head of marketing at the Dawn Media Group and former secretary general of APNS.



The office bearers noted that Hamid served the Dawn Group for about 30 years and actively promoted the cause of newspaper industry. He was elected the secretary general of APNS for two terms and headed the marketing team of PHPL as director marketing. Acknowledging the services of Hamid, APNS observed that the newspaper industry has lost in him “a talented and young colleague”.

The office bearers and members of the executive committee have offered their condolences to the bereaved family as well as his colleagues. They prayed that Almighty Allah may rest the departed soul in peace and give the bereaved family courage and patience to bear this irreparable loss. Members of APNS join his family in this hour of grief.

The Namaz-e-Janaza will take place after Namaz-e-Zohar at Masjid Baitus Salam near K-Electric office, Phase IV DHA Karachi on Sunday, April 19.
