Rallying Support: MQM to hold jalsa on Liaquatabad flyover
MQM plans to hold a rally a day before the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf rally
KARACHI:
Claiming to be the country’s first political party to hold a rally on a flyover, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Saturday announced that they would hold a jalsa on the Liaquatabad flyover as part of its election campaign for upcoming by-polls of NA-246. “This is the first time a jalsa is being held on a flyover,” said party leader Aminul Haq. “Parties hold rallies on the ground or on roads but our congregation will be different and unique as it is being held on a flyover.” The MQM plans to hold a rally a day before the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s scheduled rally on Sunday at Aisha Manzil. The NA-246 seat was vacated in February after Nabil Gabol resigned from the National Assembly.
