Week-On-Week: SPI falls 0.39%
Average prices of 16 items fell in a selected basket of goods
ISLAMABAD:
The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended April 16 registered a decrease of 0.39% over the previous week for the lowest income group. The SPI for the group stood at 200.78 points against 201.56 points in the previous week, according to provisional figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The SPI for the combined income group decreased 0.24% from 209.11 points in the previous week to 208.60 in the week under review. Compared to the corresponding week of last year, the SPI for the combined income group fell 1.93%. During the week, average prices of 16 items fell in a selected basket of goods, prices of 14 items rose and rates of remaining 23 goods recorded no change.
