Young Kurdish girl filmed firing machine gun at 'IS militants'
While IS is known to engage young children in fighting, Kurds have so far restrained from involving kids into battle
Shocking footage shows a young Kurdish girl aiming and firing a machine gun into the desert, while claiming to have killed 400 Islamic State militants.
Sitting comfortably on a ridge, the girl tells the person behind the camera she is shooting at the IS before firing several rounds into the open.
When asked how many she has killed, she raises her hand, drawing out four fingers and says, “400”, while the cameraman cheers her on, saying, “kill kill!”
Whether she was actually able to hit anything is uncertain.
Whereas IS is known to engage young children in fighting, the Kurds have so far restrained from involving children into battle. The militant group, on the other hand, has even claimed to be using children as executioners.
The Kurds are more known for their female fighters who have been crucial in driving out IS. They believe women fighters are their strength against the militants.
