Project: Saddar to have a new food park

Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) is all set to establish a food street at Bank Road in Saddar at a cost of Rs20 million.

RCB chief executive officer Faheem Zafar said a special five-member management committee has been set up to look after the project.

The management committee members included Anjumane Tajran Cantt President Sheikh Hafeez, Zafar Qadri, Fakharul Islam, Hassan Mustafa and Muneer Mughal.

The food street will also have a walking area.

Zafar said that RCB will also deploy sanitary workers and ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards.


A parking lot with 200-car capacity will also be established for Saddar bazar to cater to the issue of car parking for the visitors.

He said they were working to make RCB the best cantonment in the country.

The project for laying underground electricity and telephone cables at Bank Road, Haider Road and Adam G Road will also be completed this month.

He said the newly constructed flower market would also be functional next month.
