Close Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras are being installed at entry and exit points of Rawalpindi city. Rawalpindi Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operation, Karamat Ullah Malik said that the city police were utilising all available resources to control crime and maintain a peaceful atmosphere in the city.
He said scientific techniques were being adopted under which a modern computerised surveillance system of CCTV cameras was being installed at the entry and exit points of the City.
The SSP said that under the project, the cameras were being installed on a public-private partnership basis at all entry and exit points of the city, which would help control incidents involving vehicle-lifting.
The new system is being installed at over 26 entry and exit points of the city, he said.
He informed that the cameras would remain operational round-the-clock.
