Sims verification: No extension in deadline, says PTA chairman
PTA chairman Ismail Shah says about 15 million SIMs have yet to be verified

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Chairman Ismail Shah has said that Sunday was the last day for biometric verification of mobile Subscriber Identity Modules (SIMs).
Ismail Shah lauded the cooperation of the people and the mobile companies for verification of SIMs. The SIMs verification exercise is part of the National Action Plan.

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Chairman Ismail Shah has said that Sunday was the last day for biometric verification of mobile Subscriber Identity Modules (SIMs).
In a statement issued on Sunday, the chairman said deadline for biometric verification of SIMs will not be extended anymore.
He said blocked SIMs will be reactivated upon biometric verification even after Sunday’s deadline.
The PTA chairman said data of verified SIMs would be available with National Database Registration Authority (NADRA). He said about 15 million SIMs have yet to be verified.
Ismail Shah lauded the cooperation of the people and the mobile companies for verification of SIMs. The SIMs verification exercise is part of the National Action Plan.
