
On Sunday, the Election Commission of Pakistan issued the final list of 85 candidates contesting the upcoming Cantonment Board Elections in 10 wards of the Lahore Cantonment.
According to the list issued by the ECP, the PTI plans to contest elections from 10 wards. The PML-N will contest elections from nine wards and have not fielded a candidate from Ward 6 of Lahore Cantonment. The PPP will contest elections in seven wards. They have not fielded candidates from Wards 4, 5 and 6. The Jamaat-i-Islami will contest the elections from six wards. It will not contest elections from Wards 1, 5, 9 and 10.
The highest number of candidates, 13, will be contesting the elections from Ward 4. Twelve candidates will contest the election from Wards 2 and 7 of the Lahore Cantonment. Ten candidates will contest the election from Ward 9. The least number of candidates contesting from a ward is three – from Ward 6. Six candidates each will be contesting the election from Wards 3 and 5 of the Lahore Cantonment Board.
