Child rights: ‘Discourage child marriages’

Government and parents should give priority to girls’ education, MPA Sadia Sohail Rana said on Sunday.
They should discourage child marriages, she said at a discussion organised by Kafka Welfare Organisation in collaboration with Alif Ailaan.
She said that she would try her best to get a bill against child marriages passed in the Punjab Assembly.
The participants of the discussion were informed that 37 per cent of Pakistani women were married before the age of 18.
