Unstable law and order: Quetta shuts technical training centre

.

QUETTA:
The federal government has closed the Precision Systems Training Centre (PSTC) in Quetta due to the deteriorating law and order situation in the provincial capital, according to the orders issued by Pakistan Council of Scientific and Research Centre available with The Express Tribune. Some 243 students from different parts of Balochistan have so far been awarded the DAE (Design for Arts and Entertainment) certificate from the institute, and all of them have reportedly been gainfully employed in Pakistan and abroad. The closure has been criticised by officials of the impoverished province, who said Balochistan already lacks manpower with technical capacity and the institutions offering such trainings are already much lesser than the other provinces. “It is really disappointing,” a PSTC official said while referring to a copy of the order he shared with The Express Tribune.
