Hooda man?: Deepak Hooda stars as Royals win nail-biter

A Tim Southee boundary off the last ball saw Rajasthan Royals scrape a three-wicket win over the Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League on Sunday.
Batting first, the Delhi side made a decent 184-3 but perhaps would be disappointed with the total, especially considering that all their batsmen made starts but none of them managed to carry through and make a big score. Angelo Mathews’ late cameo — a 14-ball 27 — took the Daredevils to a defendable score.
19-year-old Deepak Hooda was perhaps the pick of the bowlers for the Royals, giving away only 20 runs in his four overs while South African Chris Morris was the most successful with figures of 2-55.
In reply, the Rajasthan side were struggling at 78-4 after 10.4 overs and it once again came down to teenager Hooda to bail out his side, making a quickfire 54 off 25 balls and ensuring that he won the man-of-the-match award.
However, he holed out to long on where Mathews took a simple catch off Imran Tahir — who was particularly impressive with figures of 4-28 — to set up a nervy finale.
When Mathews took the ball in the final over, 12 runs were still required and when three were required off the final ball, Southee smashed it through the covers to give his side the win.
