PTI leader and candidatefrom NA-246 Imran Ismail while talking to media announced that the party would hold its election rally at Shahrah-e-Pakistan on April 19 after the local administration did not allow them to hold it at Jinnah Ground. He said PTI chief Imran Khan would reach Karachi on April to attend the rally, adding that PTI chief would also visit the constituency.

He also revealed that PTI has requested Jamaat-e-Islami to withdraw its candidate from the race of NA-246 seat. “JI is our ally in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, we have requested them to withdraw their candidate but they have not yet responded to our request,” he added.

On a question regarding reports of former MNA from NA-246 Nabil Gabol joining PTI, Ismail said he was not aware of any such decision.
Refuting the rumors regarding any deal with PTI’s main opponent in the by-election Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), he said “We just want to normalise the situation in the constituency,” adding that the party is not facing any opposition from MQM in conducting its activities in the constituency.
