Week-On-Week: SPI rises 0.78%
The SPI for the combined income group increased 0.66%

The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended April 9 registered an increase of 0.78% over the previous week for the lowest income group. The SPI for the group stood at 201.56 points against 200 points in the previous week, according to provisional figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The SPI for the combined income group increased 0.66% from 207.74 points in the previous week to 209.11 in the week under review. Compared to the corresponding week of last year, the SPI for the combined income group fell 2.07%. During the week, average prices of 13 items fell in a selected basket of goods, prices of 12 items rose and rates of remaining 28 goods recorded no change.
