Cantt polls: Court annuls rejection of 9 candidates

ABBOTABAD:
Additional Sessions Judge III Abdul Baseer Khan annulled the rejection of nine candidates for the upcoming Cantonment Board elections. Forty-eight candidates had filed nomination papers for five seats of Cantonment Board Abbottabad. The board’s CEO, who is acting as the returning officer, rejected the papers of 11 candidates during scrutiny. The candidates challenged the decision in the court, which declared the papers of nine candidates valid. Wajahat Afsar Jadoon, Tahir Afridi, Muhammad Razzaq, Muhammad Sajjad, Dilawar Khan, Muhammad Saeed, Shehzad Khan, Shamraiz Khan and Qazi Shafiqur Rehman are now eligible to participate in the polls.
