The postmortem report of a two and a half year old girl confirmed that she was raped before being murdered by pressing her neck, an official of the investigation wing told The Express Tribune on Wednesday.
The body of the two and a half year old girl was found from a vacant plot on Kamahan Road in Nishter Colony a day before.
Nishter Colony SHO Tanveer Ahmad said the girl went missing from near her house on April 4.
“Her family did not immediately contact police and instead continued looking for her on their own. On Tuesday, a passersby spotted her body and informed her parents; who identified her and called the police,” says the SHO.
An official of the investigation team said the police had earlier suspected that she was raped before being murdered.
“We have started the investigation of the case,” added the police official.
