Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Inayatullah Khan has directed his department to prepare a booklet that would brief new candidates about how the local government setup works.
He gave some details about the polls, saying 40,000 candidates will be elected from across the province and of those, 36,000 will be chosen from both village and neighbourhood councils.

Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Inayatullah Khan has directed his department to prepare a booklet that would brief new candidates about how the local government setup works.
The department will prepare a booklet which will also guide voters, said the LG minister’s personal secretary, Muhammad Iqbal, at a meeting held on Wednesday. The task to prepare the booklet, added Iqbal, has been given to the JI naib ameer for K-P, Iqbal Khalil, and other officials of the department. The structure of the elected body would be explained in the book, said Iqbal, adding the district and tehsil chairpersons would be elected through a show of hands.
