Eyes off the road: Four die in Kallar Kahar road accident

Four passengers died in a road accident on the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway near Kallar Kahar on Tuesday. Police said a Lahore-bound passenger van from Chakwal hit a trailer and overturned after the van driver lost control of the vehicle. Four passengers died on the spot. They were identified as Ahmad Saeed, Khizar Hayat, Ghulam Fatima, and Maqsooda Rani. 12 other passengers, including the driver, were injured in the accident and were taken to the Chakwal district headquarters hospital. Of them, seven were discharged after first aid. A police official said that the van driver, Ayaz Ahmed, was responsible for the accident. The driver has been arrested and the bodies handed over to the families.
