Two prisoners convicted for murder were hanged in jails in Punjab early Tuesday morning, Express News reported.
Muhammed Jaffer was handed the death sentence for murdering two people in 1997 and was hanged in Sahiwal Central Jail.
Meanwhile in Lahore's Kot Lakhpat Jail, Tayyab was executed for the murder of a fellow resident, Abrar Hussain, of Toba Tek Singh in 2000.

According to reports, tight security arrangements were made in and around the jail at the time of his hanging to avoid any untoward incident.
The interior ministry had lifted its moratorium on the death penalty in all capital cases, on March 10, after restarting executions for terrorism offences in the wake of Peshawar school massacre.
