Law and order: Gang of highwaymen arrested

He said two others managed to escape

MULTAN:
Police claimed on Monday to have arrested three members of a gang involved in highway robberies. Valuables worth Rs10.3 million were recovered from their possession. CPO Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry said a police team comprising Operations SSP Muhammad Saleem, Cantt SP Saifullah Khattak, Muzaffarabad DSP Sifatullah Sherazi, Qutabpur SHO Haji Muhammad Shafiand and SI Altaf Hussain had been tasked to find and arrest the criminals. He said they arrested gang leader Muhammad Ilyas, a resident of Muzaffarabad and his accomplices Javed of Rangeelpur and Abdul Rasheed of Peer Colony. He said two others managed to escape. The CPO said a trailer, cash, 1,500 packets of milk and 600 packets of juice worth Rs10.3 million were recovered. He said weapons were also seized. The CPO announced prizes and commendation certificates for police team.
