Pakistan Peoples Party (Shaheed Bhutto) chief Ghinwa Bhutto has lamented that despite a presidential reference, the case of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto could not be reopened in spite of a lapse of four years.

“Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto went to gallows while fighting for the rights of the people of Pakistan, but nothing has been done yet to reopen the case in spite of a presidential reference that was promulgated four years back,” she said. Ghinwa was addressing a rally in the premises of Bhutto’s mausoleum at Garhi Khuda Baksh in Larkana on Saturday to commemorate the 36th death anniversary of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

She strongly criticised Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and said the party claims to be against the death penalty but had actually supported in lifting moratorium on it. “Death penalty is against human rights and therefore implementation on execution should be stopped,” she demanded.

Terming al Qaeda and Islamic State as two faces of the same coin, she said the government and army cannot curb the menace of terrorism alone. “This menace can be rooted out only with the support of 180 million Pakistanis,” she said.

Ghinwa said it was the principled stance of Quaid-e-Azam and Quaid-e-Awam not to interfere in the matters of brotherly Muslim countries, but now the government was going to interfere in the internal matters of Yemen.
