Elected representatives will not get BISP forms any more

The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) will no longer hand over forms to the elected representatives for distribution among the deserving people of their constituencies.
During a press conference at their Hyderabad office on Saturday, BISP chairperson MNA Marvi Memon said that the practice will no longer continue. The BISP is scrutinising all the 4.8 million beneficiaries of the programme to check the widespread fraud and abuse of the programme, which provides an annual stipend of Rs18,000 to the beneficiaries. Memon said that the recipients are being extorted for bribes in all four provinces.
