Misallocated wages: 400 KMC ghost employees sacked
The minister has ordered all town municipal authorities to prepare a list
KARACHI:
On the directives of Sindh local government minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, administrator Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) West town Sajjad Memon sacked around 400 ghost employees working under his jurisdiction. The spokesman for the local government said that hundreds of ghost employees are currently on the payroll of the KMC and the Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KWSB) and all will be terminated. The minister has ordered all town municipal authorities to prepare a list of those ghost employees who are drawing salaries without performing their jobs. “They will be removed very soon,” the administrator Karachi Saqib Soomro said.
