Woman confesses to killing her husband with help of her seven-year-old daughter.
KARACHI:
Police have booked and arrested the woman who confessed to killing her husband with the help of her seven-year-old daughter.
The accused, 30-year-old Shabana, first lied about her husband’s death and told police that he had committed suicide.
The 38-year-old husband, Abdullah, was killed on early Sunday morning in his house in Sector 11 ½, Shah Waliullah Nagar within the jurisdiction of the Iqbal Market police station, Orangi Town.
“The victim’s wife was trying to bury him without performing any legal formalities,” DSP Mohammad Ahmed Baig told The Express Tribune. When the body was taken to a hospital to get a death certificate, it was found out that the man had been murdered.
Later during her interrogation, Shabana confessed. “I strangled him with the help of my seven-year-old daughter,” the accused told police. “But before that I gave him four sleeping pills,” she added.
She said she killed him because he was mentally handicapped and she was unhappy with him. He also used to beat her and her children.
The officer said that the police will not arrest the woman’s daughter as she was a minor and moreover, initial investigation suggests that she was not involved.
The woman has three other children.
Abdullah used to work in Customs House. An FIR, No 677/10, has been filed against Shabana.
