KARACHI: Pakistan needs to adopt a sagacious approach towards the Yemen crisis and develop a policy with consensus instead of jumping in the war on a single individual’s decision, Awami National Party (ANP) chief Asfandyar Wali Khan said on Thursday. Wrong policies adopted in the 1980s led to extremism, terrorism, hate and sectarianism, Wali said referring to the Afghan policy of that time. “We are reaping what one person once in the era of ’80s had sown for the nation,” he said speaking at a press conference on Thursday. “Once again an individual is imposing his decision on the whole nation by drafting a policy on Yemen issue,” he warned. He demanded not to make Yemen policy an act of an individual. “Rather make it a national policy.”
