PCB forms review committee for World Cup
Five-member group to meet for the first time on Friday
KARACHI:
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has formed a five-member committee to assess the performance of Pakistan in the recently concluded World Cup held in Australia and New Zealand.
The men in green exited the mega event in the quarter-finals’ stage after losing to eventual winners Australia.
Pakistan started the World Cup on the wrong foot, losing their first two group matches to arch-rivals India and the West Indies respectively. After that, the team won four back-to-back matches against Zimbabwe, UAE, South Africa and Ireland to qualify for the last-eight, which they lost.
“The PCB’s newly-formed five-member World Cup ‘15 Review Group shall meet for the first time at the Gaddafi Stadium [in Lahore] on Friday morning,” read an official PCB press release.
“The five-member group consists of PCB Chairman Shaharyar Khan, Chairman Executive Committee Najam Sethi, Chief Operating Officer Subhan Ahmad, Wasim Bari and Iqbal Qasim.”
