Rescue 1122 District Officer Ijaz Anjum on Wednesday directed Community Safety Wing officer Kunwar Faheem to launch a campaign for public awareness on dengue fever as soon as possible.
He was presiding over a meeting. He said pamphlets should be distributed and regular seminars should be held so that rural communities could learn how to protect themselves from dengue mosquito. The meeting also reviewed performance of Rescue 1122 in Khanewal in March 2015. The DO was told that Rescue 1122 received 1,548 emergency calls, of which 583 were accidents, 66 crimes, 10 fires, two drowning, 710 medical emergencies and 177 miscellaneous calls.
