Gunmen riding a motorcycle shot and injured the father of supermodel Ayyan in the jurisdiction of Gujjar Khan police station.
The incident took place 15 minutes before Ayyan was to appear in court in a money laundering case. Police said that Raja Hafeez was on his way to court to see his daughter when two unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle signalled him to stop.
They opened fire on him when he stopped his car on a roadside and he sustained a bullet wound to his right shoulder. He was rushed to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital where doctors referred him to the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Hospital. Medics said the bullet fractured Hafeez’s shoulder bone, but he was in a stable condition and discharged after treatment.
Talking to reporters, Hafeez alleged that he had been threatened to stay away from his daughter. “I was shot by those who own the money recovered from Ayyan,” he said.
