Lahore High Court on Friday admonished the Nishter Town SHO for not producing before the court 10 suspects detained for their role in lynching of two men in Youhanabad following twin attacks on churches in the area.
SHO Ahsanullah appeared before the court and said men discussed in the petitions were not in police custody.
Justice Mahmood Maqbool Bajwa expressed dissatisfaction with the SHO’s statement and summoned the investigation superintendent on March 30. MA Francis had filed the petition, saying police had some of his family members in custody without any evidence and had denied them access to their families.
He said police had not produced the men before court. The petitioner claimed that the men were not involved in the lynching.
