After India’s 95-run routing, renowned filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma creates controversy with a series of tweets

As if India’s unceremonious exit from the World Cup after a semi-final defeat to Australia was not embarrassing enough, Ram Gopal Varma continued to add salt to the team’s open wounds with one tasteless tweet after another.

Whether in films or on social media, Ram Gopal Varma is no stranger to controversy. After India’s 95-run routing, the filmmaker expressed his happiness at India’s loss with a series of tweets, all within a span of an hour.

Ram Gopal Varma stated that he is "sooo happy" his team lost, adding that he hates the game.



He went on to take a dig at the vast cricket fan following in India.



Ram Gopal Varma even went on to call for divine intervention.



As Indian fans mourned, he continued to heap burning coals on their heads.



The filmmaker concluded his rant by terming addiction to cricket a "national disease".
