Tragic end: Child shoots himself over pocket money woes
Police say he used his father’s pistol to kill himself.

A student of grade four committed suicide on Tuesday after his father refused to give him pocket money.
The Langrana SHO told The Express Tribune that Tahir Luk, a resident of Chak 202-JB, had refused to give Rs50 to his 10-year-old son. The boy begged his father for money but he did not concede. Later, the boy locked himself in a room. Then the family members heard a gunshot.
When they broke down the door, they found that the boy had shot himself. He was taken to a hospital. However, he died on the way, the SHO said. He said a police team had visited the house to determine the facts.
Separately, a 15-year-old girl was hospitalised after she attempted to commit suicide in Chak 477-GB. Police said the girl tried to end her life after she had an argument with her parents. She was taken to hospital. Doctors treating her said she was in stable condition.
Two men also attempted to commit suicide on Tuesday. Police said a 17-year-old had swallowed poison in Madina Town over a domestic dispute. He was taken to hospital in critical condition.
In Chak 204-RB, a 25-year-old also swallowed poison after a domestic quarrel. He was taken to a hospital where doctors treating him said his condition was stable.
