LAHORE:
Pakistani designers made it big at the Qatar International Fashion Festival (QIFF) on March 19 and 20 at Al Majlis Ballroom, Sheraton Hotel. According to a press release, the event was organised in collaboration with fashion designers from Pakistan and the Middle East.

Designers, who showed their collections at QIFF, were Adnan Pardesy, Asim Jofa, Goal, Hamna Amir, Rana Noman, Rani Emaan, Sadaf Amir, Shazia’s bridal gallery, Umer Sayyed, Umsha Couture, and Waseem Noor. Prior to participating in the fashion fiesta, Pardesy said, “We are thrilled. It is an excellent opportunity for Asian designers to showcase their design work and craft to the Middle Eastern market.”

QIFF, a project by designer Sana Salman, has been a part of the fashion industry for five years. The initiative, which was directed towards promoting Asian-wear in Qatar, will serve as a permanent platform for designers to showcase their works. “Taking part in credible fashion platforms, such as QIFF, allows us to increase exposure of our brand to a wider audience, which will definitely result in greater opportunities for our label to grow,” stated Pardesy.

Supermodels Fouzia Aman, Iraj Manzoor and Rizwan Ali walked the ramp along with supermodels from Qatar. The red carpet was hosted by Anoushey Ashraf and the show was choreographed by Naeem Haque. The event was attended by actor Fawad Afzal Khan, who recently won the ‘Best Debut’ Filmfare Award for his stint in the film Khoobsurat.
