VIDEO: Air chief marshal flies F-16 on Pakistan Day parade

The fly-past was not only covered from the ground, but was also from inside the cockpit of Air Chief Marshall Sohail Aman’s F-16 jet through the help of a Go-Pro.

The new air chief marshal took part in the fly-past at the Pakistan Day Parade, flying an F-16.

It was for the first time that the fly-past was not only covered from the ground, but was also from inside the cockpit of Air Chief Marshall Sohail Aman’s F-16 jet through the help of a Go-Pro.



A video posted on Facebook by the Aperture Sensation shows the air chief strapping up and getting into his F-16, before displaying his skills navigating 7+ Gs forces while taking the aircraft through a vertical climb with Aileron rolls.

He was appointed as air chief earlier this month after former Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt retired.

An accomplished fighter pilot, Aman is a graduate of Combat Commanders’ School, Air War College and Royal College of Defence Studies (UK). His career encompasses a wide range of operational, training and command assignments, said a PAF press release. The new air chief was commissioned in the GD(P) branch of PAF in November 1980. During his career in PAF, Aman has flown various types of fighter and training aircraft on PAF inventory.

He holds Master’s degrees in International Studies from Kings College UK and Strategic Studies from Air War College.
