Going green: ‘No tolerance for illegal cutting of trees’

If every person planted at least two saplings inside their house, it could contribute greatly to pollution.

LAHORE:

“The Forest Department has a zero tolerance policy on illegal cutting of trees,” Forests, Wildlife and Fisheries Department Secretary Jehanzeb Khan said on Saturday. He was addressing a seminar.

“We must eliminate pollution and provide a clean environment for future generations,” he said. He said if every person planted at least two saplings inside their house, it could contribute greatly in controlling pollution.

He said work on a new 600-acre forest near River Ravi was underway.  Later, the secretary led a walk held in connection which university students, schools children and people from various walks of life participated.
