Eight members of a family killed, three injured in Mansehra road accident

Eight members of a family, including two women and two young girls, were killed while three others were injured on Friday when their vehicle plunged into a roadside gorge near Sanjora area of Mansehra.

According to the Police, Dilnawaz had travelled from Saudi Arabia on annual leave on Thursday night and his family members had gone to receive him at Islamabad airport.

On their way back to their native village, Bajmohri, in a jeep, the driver of the overloaded vehicle lost control of the steering near Sangjora and it fell hundreds of feet deep into a ravine, killing eight people on the spot.


Three others,  Sajjad, Noreen Bibi and Minaal Bibi, were critically injured and were shifted to Ayub Medical Complex Abbottabad.

Dilnawaz managed to jump off the falling vehicle and was saved.

A rescue operation could not be launched immediately as the accident took place in a remote area. Excessive bleeding were the cause of most of the deaths.

The deceased were identified as Mubashhar, Jameel, Shehzad, Wajid, Shamim Bibi, Maroof un Nisa, and the minor girls as Saima and Mayeda Bibi.
