Airport attack case: Trial to be conducted inside jail premises
Eight suspects have been declared proclaimed offenders in the case.
KARACHI:
The airport attack case, being tried by an anti-terrorism court (ATC), has been notified for trial inside jail by the provincial home department.
The ATC-I received a letter from the home department on Saturday, stating that there was a security concern in transporting the suspects held in the case to court for hearing. The letter requested that the case may be notified for jail trial.
In the previous hearing, the court had indicted three suspects, accused of providing financial and logistics support to the assailants who stormed the airport on June 8 last year.
Eight suspects have been declared proclaimed offenders in the case. The first inside-jail hearing of the case has been fixed for March 16.
