LHC rejects application seeking ban on WikiLeaks website

Judge says revelations like those made by WikiLeaks are not a new thing in the 21st century.

LAHORE:

The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday rejected an application seeking a ban on whistle blowing website WikiLeaks.


The application was filed by a Lahore based lawyer. Justice Sheikh Azmat in his remarks, asked the applicant as to what will happen by banning WikiLeaks.


He said there is no law that stops the process of revealing information. He also said that such revelations are not a new thing in the 21st century. Justice Azmat also inquired as to whether the applicant is afraid of listening to the truth.


Therefore, he dismissed the application seeking a ban on the website.
