Missing girl found dead

The protesters chanted slogans against the killing and demanded arrest of those responsible

FAISALABAD:
Scores of residents of Millat Town blocked Millat Road in protest against the killing of a four-year-old girl who went missing from her house two days ago and whose body was found from a sewer drain on Friday.

Talking to newsmen, Javaid Ahmad, father of deceased, said his four-year-old daughter had gone missing on Wednesday. She had been playing in the street outside the house in New Garden Town.

“We look for her and later informed the police,” he said. He said on Friday, a man spotted a child’s body floating in a sewer drain and called the police.


The protesters chanted slogans against the killing and demanded arrest of those responsible.

A team from Millat Town police station later met the protesters and assured them that those behind the abduction and killing would be found and taken to task.

The protesters dispersed on this assurance.

Talking to The Express Tribune, Millat Town SHO Nasir Nawaz said police had registered a case and started investigations. He said the body had been sent to a morgue for autopsy.
