Crippling Virus; Anti-polio drive enters second day

A total 240,955 children will be vaccinated

KARACHI: Commissioner Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui stressed on achieving the polio vaccination target as the four-day drive against the crippling disease entered its second day on Thursday. The drive is being conducted in eight sensitive union councils of the city. The commissioner presided over a meeting at his office to review the progress of the on-going drive, in which a total 240,955 children will be vaccinated. The meeting was informed that on the first day of the drive, children were vaccinated in Muzaffarabad Colony, Muslimabad Gajro, Songal, Manghopir, Ittehad Town, Chishti Nagar and Islamia Colony. The commissioner said that the campaign is being carried out with the cooperation of religious scholars and communities.
