Judge receives bullet in sealed envelope

District and Sessions Judge and Chairman of the Appellate Tribunal Council of Local Government Suhail Jabbar Malik has received a death threat in a disturbing incident at his office, officials confirmed on Saturday.
A sealed envelope containing a handwritten note and a 9mm bullet was recovered from the judge's chamber during routine cleaning. The note reportedly carried a crude message addressed to the judge.
The judge's private secretary, Javed Iqbal, lodged a complaint at Aram police station under Anti-Terrorism Act, leading to the registration of an FIR. According to the complaint, labourers present in the chamber discovered the envelope while moving office items.
"The envelope contained a note addressed to the judge along with a 9mm bullet," the private secretary said, adding that neither the labourers nor the office peon had any knowledge of how the envelope was delivered.
The judge, a former member of the Anti-Terrorism Court, has previously presided over terror financing cases and issued death sentences to members of banned organisations in Sindh.
