As per court orders, Mirza will be hanged on March 19.

Sumera Wajahat, the petitioner and Mirza's sister, said an application has already been filed by her brother with the Supreme Court against his execution.

Mirza, a target killer, was sentenced to death in 1999 on charges of murdering former managing director of Karachi Electric Supply Corporation Shahid Hamid along with his driver Ashraf Brohi and guard Akbar Khan in July 1997 in the Defence Housing Authority area of Karachi.

Wajahat pleaded against the death warrants, issued by the ATC for the execution, scheduled for March 19, to be kept in abeyance till a decision is made by the apex court.

However, court officials objected that certain documents have not been annexed to the petition, and directed Wajahat’s lawyer to file the same by tomorrow. The petition is likely to be taken up by two judges for a hearing on Friday.
