LAHORE:

A two-member team is probing the Sihala Police Training College chief on allegations that he is forcing women trainees at the centre into prostitution, The Express Tribune has learnt.

Nabeela Ghazanfer, the director for public relations at the Central Police Office, told The Tribune that the committee was constituted four days ago after a former Inspector General of Motorway Police, Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema, raised the issue in an article published in an Urdu newspaper. She said the inquiry would be finalised and its result made public in another couple of days.

The former IGP had referred to a letter he received from a woman police trainee at the centre in which the head of the centre was accused of forcing the trainee into prostitution.
