ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has said that Raza Rabbani is a man of repute but PTI will not vote for him, as they have decided in principle not to support the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) or Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).

“To the extent I know him [Rabbani] … he has a good reputation,” said Imran while addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Tuesday.

Raza Rabbani has been nominated for the post of chairman Senate. Today the prime minister also gave his nod for Rabbani's nomination.

The PTI chief said that they will watch over Rabbani’s performance as Senate chairman.

Imran said that the nation wants to see a change in the current political system.

“People are tired of the politics of reconciliation.”

He added that three of the four cases of alleged rigging in 2013 general elections were being overlooked by NADRA now, and a street movement will be launched if a judicial commission to probe electoral fraud is not formed by the government.

“I will try meeting the NADRA chairman as well and convince him for votes verification,” said Imran.

Imran also welcomed new members joining his party, and said “whoever joins the PTI; follows our policies and party decisions.”

smalee | 9 years ago | Reply AoA, I fully support IK decision, It is a mature decision. Leave what happened on those 4 NA seats. How can you get Justice from the beneficiary of 2013 election , (Yaar kon appni seat chorta hai) But i guess it is time for change. Forget 2013 elections. Focus on your province. Show your progress, Focus on Hydro Electricity Generation from your own province, Nawaz will only construct roads for sure and immature electricity projects like Nandi Pur. But for God sake time to wake up, show your 5 year plan and achievements in 2 years. It time for real change ! (I voted twice for PTI in 2013)
