LHC chief judge: JCP recommends Justice Manzoor Malik
He may remain the LHC CJ till April 30, 2018
ISLAMABAD:
The Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) has recommended Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik for the office of chief justice of Lahore High Court when the incumbent chief justice, Khawaja Imtiaz Ahmad who will retire on March 29 this year, sources revealed to The Express Tribune.
The commission met on Monday under the chairmanship of Chief Justice of Pakistan Nasirul Mulk to discuss the appointment of the new LHC chief justice.
Justice Malik was appointed as a judge of the high court on September 15, 2009.
He may remain the LHC CJ till April 30, 2018. Malik was also the counsel for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the plane hijacking case.
