RAWALPINDI:

School teachers in Rawalpindi have demanded abolition of Punjab Examination Commission (PEC) and restoration of the old examination system.

The Rawalpindi Teachers Alliance, a union of teachers’ bodies in the district, has threatened to boycott exams and vaccination campaigns if their demands are not met.

They also demanded regular promotions, a CM’s package and a 100 per cent rise in salaries.

Their 20-point charter also calls for an end to reallocation and rationalisation policy, under which schoolteachers are reshuffled between schools according to the student strength.

They also said that an amount for a housing scheme was being deducted from their salaries but they were not being given plots.
