Colour coding: New registration plates launched
The new registration plates would be available in three colours — yellow, white and green.
ISLAMABAD:
The Excise and Taxation (E&T) Department has started issuing computerised registration plates for vehicles with a reflective colour and better quality.
E&T Director Nauman Yousaf said on Friday that the new registration plates would be available in three colours — yellow, white and green — with a distinguishing colour at the bottom of each plate. Earlier, commuters used registration plates in only one colour.
“The yellow colour plates would be issued for commercial vehicles, white for private and green for government vehicles,” Yousaf said.
The official added that the new registration plates would also help traffic police differentiate between vehicles while imposing fines and maintaining record.
