A resident of Chak 541 received an extortion demand late on Wednesday.


The Garh SHO said that the family of Rana Idrees, who worked abroad, had received an anonymous letter.

“Unidentified people, who claimed to be members of Islamic State, have demanded Rs10 million from the family.

They have threatened to kidnap his son if he refuses to pay,” he said.

He said that a complaint had been registered and they had started an investigation.
